Board Chair, Bill Cumming and Executive Director, Claire Berkowitz with Bill Layman from the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation.

MCA is honored to receive the 2016 “Building Our Community” Grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Maine. MCA is one of only twenty-four nonprofit organizations from across the state selected to receive the $2,000 grant.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire MCA community who voted for us and shared the link with their family and friends. It is with your support that MCA continues to be a strong data-driven advocate for Maine’s children, youth and families.

“MCA seeks to make a difference for children and families by harnessing the power of data and empowering lawmakers, service providers and advocates to make the best decisions for our kids. We are so honored to be recognized for our leadership, research and advocacy work by our own community.”

– Claire Berkowitz, Executive Director

The Masonic Charitable Foundation launched the “Building Our Community” grant initiative last year to promote and support organizations already doing good work in their communities. MCA was nominated for the award in early January by Freemasons in the Augusta-area interested in helping worthy causes in the local community. Winners were chosen by over 20,000 online voters from across the state and country.

MCA is committed to improving the lives of Maine’s children, youth and families through research, collaboration and advocacy. By providing comprehensive data and information about the status and well-being of Maine’s children, partnering with local, regional and state service providers and advocates, and promoting sound policies and practices, MCA seeks to give Maine children the best chance at success.
